Here’s a little bit more about laser hair reduction treatments:

Laser hair reduction targets color

Since the treatments target color, they are most effective on brown and black hair.  It is equally important to let any color picked up from the summer sun fade before starting treatments.

How does laser hair reduction work?

When the hair absorbs the laser light, it also absorbs energy, which essentially damages the hair follicle, damaging it permanently. New hair follicles regrow in place of the damaged hair follicles, and since all hair follicles are in different phases of their growth cycle at any given time, multiple treatments will often be needed to achieve permanent hair reduction.

How many treatments should I expect?

Multiple treatments are needed to treat each growth cycle of hair for the best end result. For body areas, people are typically treated every eight to 12 weeks. Face and neck treatments are spaced four to six weeks apart. Everyone is different, and some people may have growth cycles that come and go a little sooner than others.
