Smoky eyes have been a fashion statement for years now, but what’s next? Instead of darkening the skin around your eyes, make them pop in a much more natural way. The latest trend is to make your eyes naturally big through use of natural-colored shadows and eyeliners.
Allure magazine reveals four steps for creating big, beautiful, Disney princess eyes:
1. Beige is out
Don’t buy natural beige-colored eyeshadow. Instead, apply foundation all over your face, including on your eyelids to create the natural base look. The color matches your skin tone, which will help your eyes look naturally larger.
2. Pay attention to your creases
Without makeup, the creases of your eyelids are a darker shade than your natural skin tone. Keep this factor in mind, and brush just a bit of slightly darker shade over your creases. Again, this makeup trend is meant to look natural, so pay attention to how dark the color is in relation to your natural skin tone.
For pale skin, go with cool, light taupes.
For olive skin, go with medium browns.
For dark skin, go with an espresso colors.
3. Accentuate with lines
Eyeliner is essential to making your eyes pop. However, you still want to achieve a natural look. Use an angled eyeliner brush and swipe color along the roots of your upper lashes. On your lower lash line, put three dots along the roots and use a cotton swab to smudge them together. Then, add a touch of lengthening mascara into only the roots of your lashes, unless your have pale lashes that need one brush coat through to the tips.
For fair to medium skin, go with a brown eyeliner pencil.
For dark skin, go with a black-brown eyeliner pencil.
4. Brows are in
Make others jealous of your amazing brows by combining tinted brow gel through the brows. Follow your brows’ natural color by placing color on your arches.
