When it comes to planning a wedding, coordination and preparation goes into even the smallest of details to make for a perfect day. If you’re about six months away from your wedding, you have probably already taken care of the big things like choosing a venue, finding a gorgeous gown and planning for a flawless hair and makeup look. But as you get closer to your wedding day, it’s important to pay close attention to your skin, which of course you want to be at its best. After all, looking radiant and picture-perfect on your special day takes some advance planning of its very own. Plus, your wedding photos will be something you look back on for the rest of your life, so it’s important take steps to ensure flawless, glowing skin. The aestheticians at Monarch Skin Rejuvenation Center have plenty of recommendations to help you look your best.
Six Months Prior
Our aestheticians recommend getting diligent about your skincare routine about six months prior the wedding day. It’s the ideal time to assess what you are currently doing for your skin, as well as determine what it really needs leading up to the big day.
First and foremost, if you’re not already, be sure to incorporate a sunscreen into your daily skincare regimen. This will help prevent sun damage, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and more. At Monarch, we have a variety of sunscreens for every skin type and most of our sunscreens are available in tinted and non-tinted options. We also recommend topical Retin-A to get your skin in excellent condition. For brides who have never used a retinol-based product, we suggest starting with a lower strength to give your skin plenty of time to adjust. Retin-A will help even out skin tone, clear up any breakouts and even help your wedding day makeup apply more smoothly.
Another fabulous product for radiant skin is Obagi’s C Clarifying Serum, which should be applied in the morning. This serum is fantastic for clearing up breakouts and contains vitamin C to help protect the skin from the sun’s damaging rays.
For a truly flawless look on your wedding day, our aestheticians recommend Broad Band Light (BBL) Photorejuvenation. BBL Photorejuvenation uses light energy to target anything brown or red on the surface of your skin, such as freckles and sun spots. Be sure to plan ahead, at least six months out, as it may take three to five treatments to achieve desired results. For summer or fall brides who have spent time in the sun, our aestheticians suggest a Monarch Photofacial, which is a mild Broad Band Light (BBL) Photorejuvenation treatment; however, the laser is safe for skin that has been exposed to the sun. Monarch Photofacials can be done every four weeks.
The Week Of
The big day is quickly approaching! Don’t forget to schedule a skin rejuvenation treatment for the week of your wedding in order to thoroughly clear your pores and ensure your skin is hydrated and radiant. Two of the best services to get done right before your big day are the hydrafacial MD and the Monarch Medical Facial.
Hydrafacial MD is one of the newest treatments to Monarch Skin Rejuvenation Center, but also one of the most popular, especially for brides-to-be. It’s unique vortex delivery system sets it apart. It deeply cleanses your skin, extracting all impurities, while at the same time replenishing it with vital nutrients like antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid. If you’ve never tried hydrafacial MD, we suggest a trial run about six weeks prior, but this treatment is ideal for the week of your wedding.
Likewise, our medical facials are a fantastic treatment to have done a few days before walking down the aisle. At Monarch Skin Rejuvenation Center, our signature medical facial typically includes a steam, ultrasonic deep pore cleansing, microdermabrasion, a treatment mask and LED light therapy. After a medical facial, your skin will look radiant, your makeup will go on smoother and your products will also penetrate deeper.
If you will be saying “I do” in the next 12 months or less, the best way to achieve flawless skin is to schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our aestheticians. We will provide you a custom skincare routine and make personalized recommendations for products and services that are right for your skin type.
