Nonsurgical is the New Surgical

According to NewBeauty, one of the biggest trends in plastic surgery this year is the growth of nonsurgical and minimally invasive in-office procedures. As new technologies are quickly being developed, clients are able to choose from expanding methods of shaping and rejuvenating their bodies.

Nonsurgical Nose

Many clients are turning towards the subtle use of fillers rather than surgery to correct imperfections in their noses. While this cannot decrease the size of the nose, it can change the shape and fill out certain areas. Juvéderm® is a filler that is commonly used in this type of procedure, which is typically used to decrease the look of wrinkles, smooth features and create volume in the face by restoring natural and hydrating hyaluronic acid to the skin.

Cellfina smoothes the appearance of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks and is the only FDA-approved treatment that lasts two years or more. It also targets unsightly dimples by releasing tension in the connective bands that are laced through the fat cells in the area. Cellfina is injected into locally numbed skin with a needle-sized device following a miniscule incision. The procedure is minimally invasive and relatively quick with little soreness or bruising afterwards.

Kybella™ Injections

Kybella is the only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment for submental fullness, or the “double-chin.” In quick 15-20 minute sessions, Kybella works to break down fat cells in the neck area and consequently contour and reduce the appearance of multiple chins.

Voluma® XC

Voluma XC is an injectable gel that adds volume to the cheeks. It is meant for adults 21 years of age and older, as it targets and smoothes lines on the face to reduce signs of aging. The natural-looking results can last up to two years.

Botox is a quick way to diminish the appearance of facial wrinkles and other natural signs of aging. The treatment is injected into facial muscles using a very short needle. The injection impedes muscle contractions to relax and smooth the face and, in effect, soften facial wrinkles. An entire Botox treatment typically lasts between 10-15 minutes in our office. The muscles will start to relax within four to five days and will remain that way for three to four months.

Nonsurgical and minimally invasive plastic procedures appeal to patients looking to subtly improve their appearance without a long-term commitment. If you are interested in learning more about one of these procedures, please contact our office or explore online to schedule a free consultation.
