exposed skin carePlanning your classic summer camping trip this year? Before you pack the hammock, marshmallows, and fire starter, consider what you’ll bring to protect your skin throughout the trip. Camping is fun, but it doesn’t come without the sweltering sun, whipping wind, scouring sand, and festering bugs.

Take time to plan your skin regimen in advance with these eco-friendly tips and products:

  • Use unscented cleansing towelettes — unscented, biodegradable wipes cleanse and moisturize your skin with a blend of argan oil, grapeseed oil, and olive oil.
  • Try essential oil wipes — essential oils give you both antibacterial and antiseptic properties while smelling wonderful.
  • Treat sunburn with relief spray — consider mixing up natural sunburn remedies like Aloe After Sun Spray, courtesy of Stephanie Tourles, author of Organic Body Care Recipes.
  • Pack herbal insect repellent — avoid the itchiness and pain induced by bug bites and stings with an insect repellent that is herbal-based (either store-bought or mixed up by yourself).

Keep your skin protected this summer on your camping trip and feel refreshed with nature. Remember to pack the sunscreen as it will help to prevent sunburn.
