This holiday season, wrap the gift of plastic surgery up in ribbons and bows! The winter months are prime time for plastic surgery. Historically, this is the most popular time for cosmetic surgery. People have more time off work to recuperate and are also more likely to get something extra so they look their best for holiday parties and pictures (hello Botox!). According to Allure Magazine, at least a third of all plastic surgery happens in the last quarter of the year with an increase around 25 percent from Thanksgiving to the New Year. According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), there is also an overall rise in people purchasing gift certificates for facial rejuvenation treatments for spouses, friends or family members. This season, give the gift of lift!

How To

The last thing you want to do is leave that special someone wondering if you’re trying to say you don’t like their appearance. Like most things, communication is key. Make sure you’ve talked about it in some way so as not to appear offensive. Also, hearing someone say he doesn’t like something about himself may not warrant a gift card for plastic surgery. Make sure you’re on the same page.

Consider a Gift Card

One of the best ways is to consider a gift card. A gift card lets the receiver decide what to spend it on. Gift cards work wonders as the recipient could apply it to anything from a facelift or implants to Botox or fillers. Also, consider prepaying for a consult with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons.

Who’s Doing This Already

According to Allure, the most common buyers are husbands. Younger husbands often do it as a surprise, while older couples usually discuss it and agree on it mutually. Young husbands tend to buy gift cards for breast augmentation, but there is also a trend of facelifts around this time of year. Many want to have a fresh face for the new year. Botox is also increasingly popular around the holidays, increasing 30 to 35 percent in the winter months, because it can seem like less of a big change and more of a spa day treatment.
