As we age, we naturally lose the collagen and elasticity that keeps our skin looking fresh and youthful. Sculptra® works gradually to help stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production, restoring its inner structure and increasing facial volume that has been lost to aging. Wondering if Sculptra is right for you? Watch as Kristen Kneidel, a Monarch nurse injector, explains more about this new injectable service at Monarch, and read on to learn more about the amazing results you might expect from this remarkable treatment.

What Exactly Is Sculptra?

This injectable liquid is a synthetic form of lactic acid, which your body produces naturally. It is FDA-approved and contains absolutely no animal by-products or human DNA. According to Kristen, Sculptra contains “Poly-L-lactic acid, a long word that [means] when it’s mixed with bacteriostatic water, or sterile water, it’s going to leave you with a beautiful, volumized look because it’s creating collagen in your own body.”

How Does the Procedure Work?

Sculptra is injected into the skin to diminish facial wrinkles, deep lines, creases and folds and reveal a more youthful appearance. “[Sculptra] is very different from a filler,” Kristen explains, “in the sense that this is a collagen-booster, and when injected into the skin in two to three treatments over a period of time, you’re going to see a beautiful, soft result.”

When Will I See Results?

Sculptra is intended for use as a one-time treatment regimen of up to four injection sessions that are scheduled about three weeks apart. Some results can be seen after just one treatment, but full results take a few weeks.

According to Kristen, “[These treatments] are going to add lift, structure and subtle volume to the face — never a big, full, puffy look — just a very soft, natural volumization. The results are what I love! With Sculptra, you can expect your results to last two to five years, so this is much longer than most of our dermal fillers that we use today. If you’re looking for something that adds structure, support and subtle volumization to the temples, jawline and cheeks, [then] Sculptra is going to be right for you!”
