trim your thighs with a thigh liftMany women consider their “problem area” to be their thighs. As we age, our thighs can become increasingly bothersome as fat cells, cellulite, and excess skin accumulate. This combination often results in women looking heavier, older, and less fit than they really are. Fortunately, thigh lift surgery can help.

Undergoing a thigh lift can give you firmer, sleeker upper legs through the removal of excess skin, fat and tissue. Depending on the size and shape of the incision used, the types of thighplasty procedures range from inner to medial:

Inner thigh lift

One of the most stubborn areas of the thigh for most women is the inner thigh. An inner thigh lift can eliminate excess fat in this region and reduce skin sagging caused by age or weight loss, giving you back the shapely legs of your youth.

Mini thigh lift

To address sagging tissue in the upper third of your leg, you can undergo a mini thigh lift. This modification of the inner thigh lift technique involves less dramatic results with minimal scarring and a shorter recovery period.

Bilateral thigh lift

Known as the “outer thigh lift,” the bilateral thigh lift tightens sagging skin on the front and outside of the leg, often produced by extreme weight loss. This technique is used to remove larger amounts of excess tissue and can help lift your buttocks along with your thighs.

Medial thigh lift

Reducing excess skin and fat on the upper portion of the inner thigh, the medial thigh lift is designed for patients who have undergone extreme weight loss or feel dissatisfied with the shape of their legs.

Before undergoing any of these thigh lift techniques, you and your doctor will discuss what procedure is best for your medical needs, body shape, and desired results. Ask all your questions in the initial consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to receive expert advice. You’ll feel more confident in your thigh lift procedure, knowing your surgeon is keeping all your thoughts in mind.
