Why-You-Should-Consider-a-Mini-Facelift.jpgAs you get older, you might start to notice certain changes in your face and neck, including sagging, loose skin on your neck, deep creases, displaced or shrunken fat under your skin, and jowling. If you are concerned about the signs of aging in your face, a mini facelift may be right for you. A facelift can improve the appearance of aging in the face and neck and create a more youthful, refreshed look.

How it works

During the mini facelift, your skin is separated from the tissue. Then, the muscles are tightened using sutures to restore them to their youthful positions. The skin is then redraped and smoothed to tighten loose neck skin, improve jowling, and produce a sharper jawline. Any excess skin is trimmed away. The results? A contoured, tighter face with fewer wrinkles, less excess skin, and better positioning of the jawline tissue.

No general anesthesia required

A mini facelift offers most of the desired effects of the traditional facelift, but it involves a shorter incision and scar. As a result, general anesthesia, and the risks that come with it, are eliminated. As an in-office procedure, the mini facelift is performed under local anesthesia with light oral sedation only.

Can be combined with other procedures

This facelift alternative can also be combined with other procedures if this is determined to be the right course of action for your unique needs. It is often combined with a chemical peel to improve the rejuvenation effect on the skin and improve coloration, and it’s often performed with laser-assisted liposuction of the neck as well.

Quick recovery

A quicker recover is a significant advantage of the Monarch mini facelift. While a traditional facelift will require a week or two off of work and months of healing before desired final results are achieved, the mini facelift is a minimally invasive procedure, which has many benefits including minimal swelling and bruising and quicker healing of scars. You will only be required to wear a compression garment for a week, after which the sutures will be removed and you can begin to wear makeup again. You are able to get back to work, and to your regular life, within three to seven days.

Smaller incision

This in-office procedure is performed using a much smaller incision than is used during the traditional facelift. As a result, the final scarring is typically much less noticeable and well hidden in the natural creases around the hairline and ear.

Extremely affordable

If you want to reverse the signs of aging, but cannot afford the cost of a traditional facelift, this procedure is the ideal solution. Because it is an in-office procedure and no general anesthesia is used, it is a less expensive alternative.

Safe alternative

Generally, minimally invasive in-office procedures are safer alternatives to traditional surgery. The incisions made are smaller, which means minimal blood loss, minimal muscle trauma, and minimal soft tissue trauma. And as we mentioned above, the risks of general anesthesia are also eliminated with an in-office procedure.

Long-lasting results

You might think a quicker recovery and a lower cost would mean that you would have to sacrifice on the results that you gain from the procedure, but that simply isn’t true. Just like a traditional facelift, you will get long-lasting results that you will be able to enjoy for years to come.

Book a consultation

Still unsure if this in-office alternative to the traditional facelift is right for you? Request a consultation to discuss your goals, the benefits, the risks, and the details of a Monarch mini facelift. Your plastic surgeon will be able to explain the procedure in depth and answer all of your questions.
